Using gypsum board as a veneer wall? No longer worry about vertical leveling of the wall, the cost is more cost-effective
In home decoration, whether it is a rough house decoration or a second-hand house decoration, the first step is to level all six sides of the entire house. The most difficult aspect to deal with is the overall wall leveling, as it is not only the leveling of the wall surface, but also the "vertical leveling" of the wall must be considered. However, due to quality issues in civil engineering, many residential buildings have deviations in the verticality of their walls, even with significant deviations, which greatly increases the difficulty of construction during the decoration process. In this article, Jason's gypsum board editor will introduce a time-saving, labor-saving, and highly effective construction process called "gypsum board veneer wall system".

Firstly, let me explain the term "gypsum board veneer wall system". The basic method is to use a metal veneer wall system with a cladding keel and U-shaped clips to fix it tightly against the wall (as shown in the above figure). Unlike the commonly understood gypsum board partition walls, which often have a thickness of over 10 centimeters, gypsum board veneer wall systems can achieve a thickness of less than 4 centimeters. Don't underestimate these 4 centimeters. Not only does it happen to be able to embed strong and weak electricity in PVC conduit, eliminating the need for slotting and laying pipes, but it can also perfectly solve the problem of vertical leveling of walls, at least eliminating the need for secondary leveling in terms of process.

Many people may say, "If the overall wall is made of keel gypsum board, won't it make the space smaller?" However, in reality, this concept has a misconception. The thickness of a normal wall for second level leveling will also exceed 1cm. If there is a deviation in the verticality of the wall, it needs to be leveled vertically, and the leveling thickness is calculated as the maximum deviation+1cm. Deducting the original thickness required for wall leveling, the thickness occupied by the gypsum board veneer wall system will not be much. It solves the problem of vertical leveling of the wall surface without the need for surface layer leveling and the complete process of grooved cloth pipe plastering. It greatly reduces the construction difficulty for workers and masters, and the requirements for craftsmanship are not as high, making it simple and easy to operate. After the gypsum board veneer wall is completed, simply apply putty or do wall decoration.

If you still have doubts about the thickness of the veneer wall, it's okay. There is another product system to choose from here: the bonded gypsum veneer wall system (as shown in the above picture). Although the strength is not comparable to the U-shaped metal veneer wall system, the thickness can be controlled to the limit of 2.5CM, which can be basically ignored. However, in general applications, there are still more users who choose the U-shaped sandwich wall system, as it has higher strength and durability.

On the other hand, using gypsum board as a veneer wall can avoid cracking of the masonry layer caused by building or ground settlement reasons. As long as high-quality gypsum boards or even high-strength gypsum boards like Jason Uber boards are used, the most troublesome wall cracking problem in general home decoration can be solved to the greatest extent, making the home space rejuvenated over time. Especially suitable for prefabricated panel structure multi story residential buildings that were delivered in the 1990s to around 2000 years old, this relatively mature building has basically reached the concentration period of secondary renovation and decoration. The gypsum board veneer wall system can solve many problems in the renovation and decoration of old houses.

Finally, and also the most concerning issue for many homeowners, is it cost-effective to use gypsum board to veneer walls? In fact, there is no need to worry at all. Compared to the many process steps such as secondary leveling of the powder masonry layer, slotting and plastering, and interface agent, using gypsum board veneer wall system can even be more cost-effective. At the same time, there is no need for cement plastering, which saves waiting time and greatly shortens the construction period. The time and labor costs cannot be ignored. Jason Gypsum Board, as a high-end gypsum board system solution provider, has always been on the path of exploring and innovating gypsum board product applications and continuously developing new product system solutions to meet the needs of users.
